The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer. Along Materials Village visitors will be able to enjoy a break using our popular chairs, which reflect how we capture the power of colour to democratize design for the masses. The chair expresses our personality through a unique combination of colour, design, and craftsmanship.
Pantone LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Rite, Incorporated, is the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries.
Our Pantone colour system allows the creative community to communicate and achieve the colour they imagine. So we strive to design and develop products that fill their lives.
All started 53 years ago. In 1963, Pantone revolutionized the creative industry with the launch of the Pantone Matching System – for the graphics and printing industry – an innovative tool to select, communicate and produce accurate colour. Later on, Pantone has developed the Fashion, Home and Interiors system.
For the first time, designers and producers had a language for colour, allowing us to faithfully articulate and reproduce accurate colour anywhere in the world. The system organized colours through a proprietary numbering system and fan format, which have since become iconic to the Pantone brand and of course has expanded to more than 10,000 colours across all industries where colour is critical: textile, apparel, beauty, interiors, industrial and so on.
Nowadays, Pantone is distinguished in three areas of expertise: Pantone standards, the Pantone Color Institute and the Consumer Licensing business.
We are a strong and unique source for colour inspiration, communication and trend direction. Simple, fun, bold and elegant are the 4 adjectives that describe our brand the best.
Among other creative driving initiatives, annually Pantone declares a particular colour and name it ‘Colour of the Year’.
In a nutshell, this is a symbolic colour selection; a colour snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.
For 2017, we chose Greenery, a refreshing and revitalizing shade, symbolic of new beginnings. http://store.pantone.com/it/it/color-of-the-year-2017
Because we are living within this crazy digital era it was about time to translate colours for the digital age. In 2016, we were thrilled to release our newest step into the digital colour space with Pantone Studio. Now PANTONE Studio members can have access to a comprehensive library of more than 10,000 standardized hues across all Pantone libraries and disciplines, from fashion to graphic colours – including colour values and references. Users can also build colour palettes, by selecting from colour guides, extracting colours from photos and images, searching by colour number, and by interacting with the custom palettes delivered in Pantone Color Institute content and be always up-to-date in what comes to trends. For those who love to share work on social media, send ideas to clients or discuss colour concepts with collaborators, PANTONE Studio gives palette sharing an easy-to-use interface and a whole new look. Palettes can be shared on social networks, like Instagram and Facebook, as well as via email with customized messages. The app makes all the conversations about colour much easier and accurate. http://store.pantone.com/uk/en/studio
